Katy Haun and Earl Wilsey talk Expo on the morning news

This year, Alignment Rockford will host its 7th Annual Academy Expo on October 24th. The Expo is an event that provides an opportunity for all Rockford Public Schools’ 9th graders to engage with area businesses to explore potential career opportunities and helps forge a relevant link between student curriculum and future careers. The event also helps students to make an Academy selection in January for their freshman year.

Katy – Alignment Rockford Operations Manager, and Earl Wilsey – Academy Expo Team Co-lead, VP or Schmeling Construction, were on Eyewitness News this morning to talk about the Expo and publicly ask businesses to sign up as an Industry Expert.

As an Industry Expert you will meet with 9th grade Rockford Public School students represent and discuss your career with them. This will help 9th grade students make an informed decision on their College and Career Academy selection for 10th grade.

Process
All Alignment teams form in response to a request made by RPS205. All teams are chaired by a school district administrator and vice chaired by a community leader. Each team follows the same process cycle, and each phase is comprised of multiple steps.
