Vision: All Juniors experience a real-world/hands-on job shadow/internship opportunity within their Academy that fosters relationship building among students, teachers, and employers.

Industry Council – Public Safety

Mission: The development of an on-ramp for elementary and middle school students providing them career awareness experiences to grow excitement and knowledge of careers that exist within the Rockford Police Department; the development of robust experiences within the HPS Academy/Law and Public Safety pathway; provide high school students with work-based learning experiences directly connected to careers within the City of Rockford Police Department resulting in college credits and industry certification.
Vision: The coordination of this work will reap long-term rewards for the City of Rockford, growing talent from within, and providing a sustainable way to satisfy a long-term need for employees. Homegrown talent from within the Rockford Public Schools will ensure continuity of services and a continuous supply of high-quality and interested recruiting prospects
